Solids

The Solids tile series is characterized by a pronounced depth effect thanks to the grain combination. The tile is both layered and luxurious, offering a choice of various colours of tiles and structures, from smooth to micro-relief.

Layered tonality, unfolding in balance

Solids features a palette of nine colours drawn from natural tonal ranges. Within one colour each tile combines either a medium and dark shade or a medium and light shade, carefully calibrated to build nuance. Colour reveals itself gradually, unfolding in subtle gradations that give the surface richness and material presence.

Within each colour and across the palette, tones relate naturally. These subtle shifts create atmosphere and dimension, allowing transitions to unfold in a natural way. These variations form a balanced colour field that reads as one continuous surface. In Solids, colour establishes continuity and composure, supporting architecture with measured strength.

Sizes

Within Mosa’s precise modular system, Solids performs across both small- and large-scale applications. Layered colour shading connects naturally from tile to tile, softening the boundaries between individual tiles while enhancing the perception of scale. Smaller formats introduce flexibility in layout and rhythm, without interrupting cohesion, even in more compact spaces. Allowing the system to adapt to different spatial conditions while maintaining visual consistency.

Surfaces and applications

Solids is developed for intensive use. Its dense composition provides high resistance to wear and impact, ensuring durability in demanding environments. The smooth, matt tiles (V) in the Solids series are suitable for almost every interior. The series also features tiles with a micro-relief structure (MR). These tiles have a rougher feel, giving them greater anti-slip properties and making them ideal for spaces and applications where this is required.

Solids accessories

Solids is supported by a range of complementary accessories, including stair treads and skirting elements. Developed as part of the same architectural system, they extend continuity beyond the surface, resolving corners, transitions and changes in level with the same restraint and precision as the tiles themselves.

Solids tile patterns

Our tiles are modular. Modular sizes ensure precise alignment in wall to-floor combinations, while consistent thicknesses allow patterns to be composed with ease. This allows surfaces to extend across floors, walls and transitions without interruption, reading as one continuous surface.

Use our examples or create the desired effect by designing your own pattern with the use of our Pattern Generator.

Movement, held in form

The signature appearance of Solids carries a quiet sense of movement. Its layered build-up allows light and shadow to settle gradually, giving every single tile a composed liveliness. Depth emerges naturally, present yet measured. Tactility remains restrained and precise, where matte softness meets material clarity in a surface that feels warm and rounded..

Across floors, walls and stairs, this material expression supports continuity. What once moved into the mould remains perceptible in the surface, a moment of natural fall held in place. Surfaces relate seamlessly, forming a coherent whole where variation is gently contained. The ceramic body sustains this character over time, allowing the architecture to remain uninterrupted.

Impact shaped by scale

Solids makes its impact through scale. Large-format tiles give colour variation and material depth room to unfold. Generous dimensions allow the surface to read as a whole, reinforcing continuity and balance. The choice of size supports the natural rhythm of the space, letting variation develop gradually within a composed field.

Performance in every detail

Solids is developed for intensive use. Its dense composition provides high resistance to wear and impact, ensuring durability in demanding environments. Two surface options are available: smooth and microrelief(MR). Both are suited to high-traffic areas, with the micro-structured surface offering additional grip where safety is essential.

The smooth version meets R10 classification; the micro-relief surface is rated R10B. Ease of maintenance is inherent to the material. Solids performs reliably across public, residential and commercial settings, retaining its refined appearance over time through qualities embedded within the tile itself.

A complete architectural system

Solids is supported by a range of complementary accessories, including stair treads and skirting elements. Developed as part of the same architectural system, they extend continuity beyond the surface, resolving corners, transitions and changes in level with the same restraint and precision as the tiles themselves. Together, these elements reinforce the architectural clarity of Solids, ensuring that every detail, from tile to edge, contributes to a composed and coherent whole.

Ultragres: an outstanding choice for heavily used floors

Ultragres floor tiles are very strong, retain their great appearance for a long time, and retain their properties under all conditions - in every situation, both indoors and outdoors, where the floor is subjected to heavy use. In other words, Ultragres is the best choice for the most demanding floors.

Sustainability as a shared responsibility

Longevity is addressed not only in how a surface performs over time, but also in how it is made and what it leaves behind. Guided by the Cradle to Cradle principles, material health, circularity, environmental responsibility, and social fairness are approached as one continuous system. For example, reducing the tile thickness without compromising on quality contributes to a smaller environmental footprint.

Mosa tiles are Cradle to Cradle Certified® Full Scope Gold, supporting widely recognised sustainable building standards. Shared dimensions and precise tolerances ensure seamless integration across floors and walls, allowing surfaces to extend without interruption.
