Ventilated Facades
As the visible connection to the outside, a facade primarily plays a central role in a building’s design: it’s a building’s ‘face’ that defines its – often unique – character. Architectural ideas, client wishes, and urban planning requirements determine the design objective and choice of materials
Contributing to a green building future
For years, sustainability has grown and developed into one of our core topics. In 2020, we can celebrate 10 years of Cradle to Cradle certification at Mosa. As of today, our tiles have the Cradle to Cradle silver certification – but this is not the end for us. We will continue to contribute to a healthy building environment for the users and take our responsibility for a healthy climate seriously. We are putting all our motivation and innovation performance into fulfilling the new requirements of Cradle to Cradle version 4. And we are heading even further: we are going for gold.
Green Building Labels
Green building, or sustainable design, is the practice of reducing a building’s impact on human health and the environment over the entire life cycle of the building. Besides building to last a lifetime, it is aimed at improving the sustainability of the manufacturing, construction and operation of a building. Green building is increasingly becoming more and more important and it will be the future standard in the construction industry.
Digitization in the construction industry with BIM
Industries are being developed and disrupted by digitization. The international consultancy company McKinsey looked into this topic. One of the results: the construction industry is among the least digitized industries compared to other industries like the automotive industry. As a result, 20 per cent of all building projects are delayed and in 80 per cent of all projects, the budget is exceeded.
Colour, light, and perception
Colour is a natural phenomenon. It is the product of the refraction, reflection, and absorption of light. This makes it a genetic factor in the origin and diversification of life on earth. Besides physical necessities such as photosynthesis, colours are a means of orientation for innumerable forms of life. They are also a means of communication, a reflection of social needs and even a means of socio-cultural communication.
