Social fairness

Social responsibility is part of our DNA. We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming workplace, supporting the communities we serve, and doing the right thing for people and our planet.

Sustainability > Social fairness

A welcoming workplace

We are dedicated to cultivating a welcoming, inclusive workplace that enables everyone at Mosa to build a thriving career. To do this, we’re committed to continually increasing the diversity of our workforce and ensuring equal opportunities for all members of our company through programs that support continuing education, career planning, and health and wellbeing.

Corporate citizenship

Good corporate citizenship is the root of our social fairness practices. To make sure our social fairness practices align with global principles for Human Rights, Labour, Anti-Corruption and Management, we use the B-Corp Impact Assessment and the UN Global Compact Self-Assessment tool to conduct regular self-audits. We also maintain ISO-9001 Quality Assurance and ISO-14001 Environmental Management System accreditation.

Engaging employees in sustainability

Mosa employees are actively engaged in shaping our approach to sustainability, including the continuous improvement of our Cradle to Cradle Certified®  certification. The Cradle to Cradle Certified® product standard and circular design principles are key criteria for our product creation and innovation processes – and pathways and opportunities for improving our sustainability performance are a standard agenda item for almost all Mosa departments.

Every year, Mosa employees volunteer their time to take part in a Maas River Cleanup effort to help support the health of the Maas river watershed and its ecosystems.

C2C Café

In collaboration with Schüco, Tarkett, and QbiQ Wall Systems, Mosa hosts the Cradle to Cradle Cafes four times a year in the Netherlands. Designed to inspire, engage and educate individuals, designers, sustainability professionals and business leaders, these seminars focus on how Cradle to Cradle Certified® can be a valuable driver of sustainability and circularity within the built environment.

Supply chain responsibility

We are focused on working with suppliers who share Mosa’s commitment to upholding world-class principles for good business practices, environmental responsibility, and social fairness. As part of Mosa’s evolving supply chain impact strategy, we ask all suppliers to transparently share a supplier sustainability declaration as part of our supplier agreement.

Community support

From local volunteerism to engaging with individuals, groups and organizations throughout our market region, we strive to take an active role in the communities we serve.

How we addresses social risks in the supply chain

At Mosa, we take social responsibility in our supply chain very seriously,  not only towards our direct suppliers but throughout the entire supply chain. Ethics, integrity, and respect for human rights form the foundation of our approach. We recognize that our responsibility extends beyond direct suppliers and reaches every level of the supply chain. We expect all partners, and their own networks, to uphold the same standards and cascade our principles throughout their operations.

To achieve this, we require our partners to sign and implement our Supplier Code of Conduct and cascade its principles further down their supply chains. We request evidence of compliance, conduct due diligence and audits where necessary, and engage in dialogue to address any gaps. For suppliers sourcing from high-risk or conflict areas, we apply additional requirements, such as internationally recognized certifications like SA8000 or assessments based on the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI). These measures help us strengthen assurance where risks are elevated.

We monitor progress continuously, ask for regular feedback, and support improvements where needed. If issues arise, we act promptly and work with the parties involved to implement corrective measures. Our commitment is not static: we strive for ongoing improvement and transparency, ensuring that our values are embedded at every level of the supply chain.

Sourcing data:
FMFs: Two final manufacturing facilities (wall and floor tile factories) located in the Netherlands.
Suppliers: 9x from Netherlands, 6x from Germany, 5x from Spain, 2x from Italy, 1x from Belgium, 1x from France, 1x from Greece and 1x from UK

Sourcing data:
One tier 1 supplier in Greece (listed as de facto high risk, according to SIA). However, this supplier is certified SA8000. Two tier 1 suppliers source tin from Indonesia further in the supply chain. However, both suppliers perform their due diligence via the RMI and there is no evidence to suggest that negative human rights impacts occur in the supply chain.
