Autodesk Revit

Autodesk® Revit® is building information modelling software for architects, landscape architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, designers and contractors. Autodesk Revit software allows users to design a building and structure and its components in 3D, annotate the model with 2D drafting elements, and access building information from the building model's database. The instruction below will help you to import our Mosa products in your Autodesk Revit modelling software.

Prepare

1. Install the Mosa Converter for Autodesk Revit

  1. Go to the Autodesk App Store and login.
  2. Search for Mosa Converter.
  3. Download the converter.
  4. Double click to start the installation.
  5. Click on documentation for help.

Import

1. Export the texture from the Pattern Generator and import into Autodesk Revit

  1. Go to the Pattern Generator.
  2. Select a tile pattern.
  3. Select the 'Export' menu.
  4. Pick a file resolution for Autodesk Revit.
  5. Go to Autodesk Revit and start the converter via 'Add-Ins'.
  6. Select the .zip file you downloaded.
  7. Check whether you selected the right pattern.
  8. If applicable select how to use the pattern.
  9. Press 'Generate pattern system' to generate a tile surface file.
  10. Go through the setup steps to also add the texture and bump file in the right scale.
  11. Pick the created file.
  12. Draw the boundary of the floor surface and finish.
  13. Check the alignment of texture and hatch.
  14. Go back to the pattern via url.
  15. Find the product quantities and tiler instructions.

Use

1. Connect walls and floors

  1. Select the joint you want to align to.
  2. Select the joint you want to align.
  3. Press the lock and wall and floor are connected.

2. Move the position of the texture

  1. Pick a line in the pattern.
  2. Click and hold, then drag to new position.

3. Create voids in the surface

  1. Create a void in a floor surface by altering the boundary.
  2. Create a void in a wall by altering the profile of the wall.

4. Change the pattern

  1. Select the element you want to change.
  2. Choose another system family.

5. Calculate quantities

  1. Create a schedule with a filter on Mosa as supplier.
  2. Open the schedule and all data is displayed.
