Sustainable product standards and certifications
Mosa’s Cradle to Cradle Certified® products are VOC-free, contribute to a healthy indoor climate, and are verified across a range of world-class product specifications and standards.

Cradle to Cradle Certified®
Mosa is the first tile manufacturer in the world to achieve Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold for nearly our entire tile collection. Cradle to Cradle Certified is one the world's most ambitious, multi-attribute science-based standards for designing and making products safe, sustainable products today to power a circular tomorrow.

Declare/Red List Free
Mosa’s ceramic wall tiles and porcelain floor tiles have earned Declare Labels as Living Building Challenge (LBC) Red List Free products.
A 'nutrition label' for building products, Declare enables specifiers to quickly find products that meet their project sustainability requirements. Declare labels disclose intentionally added ingredients and residuals present in the final product at or above 100ppm (0.01%) by weight.
Declare labels share product information voluntarily disclosed by the manufacturer, with a simple colour system to highlight chemicals of concern. Information about a product’s final assembly locations, life expectancy, and overall compliance with the Living Building Challenge is also disclosed. Designers can access and search all active Declare labels on a free database.
The Declare label focuses on helping products contribute to the Living Building Challenge. It also helps products contribute to other green building certifications and standards, such as LEED and WELL.

Life Cycle Assessments (LCA's)
Mosa has conducted externally validated life cycle assessments (LCA's) on all the wall and floor tiles in accordance with the EN 15804+A2 (based on ISO 14040 and the ISO 1404 family of standards).

Environmental Product Declarations (EPD)
EPD's are available for all Mosa wall and floor tiles using data from our LCA's according to ISO14025 and EN15804+A2. A2 version EPDs include more life stages and additional environmental impact indicators, including the advantages of end-of-life recycling.

FloorScore®
All MOSA floor tiles are FloorScore certified. The most recognized indoor air quality (IAQ) certification standard for hard surface flooring, FloorScore tests and certifies the VOC emissions of hard surface flooring products to ensure compliance with leading indoor air quality regulations. Developed by Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) and the Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI), FloorScore is an independent, voluntary third-party certification.

Health Product Declarations (HPD's)
HPD's provide full disclosure of the chemical ingredients in a product as compared to the GreenScreen for Safer Chemicals list and other global lists of potentially hazardous chemicals. HPD's can also help products contribute to many leading green building standards. HPD's are available for Mosa’s Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold ceramic wall tiles and porcelain floor tiles.

ISO 14001 Certification
The Environmental Management System used in Mosa’s manufacturing facilities is ISO 14001 accredited. ISO 14001 is a third-party certification that requires companies to document, implement and continually improve their environmental management system.

Living Building Challenge
The Living Building Challenge (LBC) encourages symbiosis between our built environment and the natural world. By promoting the development of buildings that function like living organisms, LBC is helping to cultivate ecologically sensitive construction practices that work in harmony with their surroundings and region.
The Living Building Challenge encompasses seven petals: place, water, energy, health, happiness, materials, equity and beauty.
Mosa tiles can help achieve Living Building Challenge objectives through material health (including the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold certification), product transparency, and our Declare® product labels.

Digital Product Passport (DPP)
Mosa is the first in the industry to launch a third-party verified Digital Product Passport for its wall and floor tiles. Based on ISO59040, the DPP provides transparent data on product content, circularity, and lifecycle. It enables accurate reporting and informed decisions to boost resource efficiency, sustainability, and product longevity.
