PRESS RELEASE

January 21, 2020

10 years of Cradle to Cradle

It has been 10 years since Mosa’s commitment to the Cradle to Cradle (C2C) principles. Ever since, we have acted and challenged ourselves in accordance to the standards. It’s been a non-stop adventure to take steps in the development process and reduce waste, save energy and take improved social responsibility. These efforts have led us to where we still are today: the world’s first and only ceramic tile company to have gained C2C Silver certification for nearly its entire collection: floor tiles and wall tiles. We are proud of our C2C-certified tiles and their contribution to earning sustainable building labels, such as LEED, BREEAM, DGNB and HQE.

Along the way we have had the privilege to share many moments with you at events, activities and fairs around the world – from our very first C2C Café to the becoming of a C2C Chartered company.

Looking ahead at the near future, we look forward to be working together with you. As we are entering 2020, we welcome you to participate in a new era. One where we as Mosa will aim even higher to contribute to circular construction as a key element to a more sustainable building industry.

C2C Version 4 Pilot

We know there is still more work to be done. Besides further implementing the C2C principles in all our product and processes, we are also driven to look beyond. That is why we are pleased to announce for the first time that our next step in 2020 will be to join the C2C Version 4 Pilot program as one of the few selected companies. Together, we will test the draft requirements and keep C2C at the forefront.

Recognizing the effects of the building industry (think: waste, over consummation of resources and effect on global warming), we feel the urge to bring more circularity into this world. Therefore, we will put even more effort this year in the developments of circular systems, circular design and circular sourcing. More information on this will follow soon!
