Marjo Crompvoets has worked at various embassies in Asia. This summer, she will be moving to her new post in Shanghai, China. She will focus primarily on promoting Dutch trade and fostering relationships between the two countries. The Consul General, who herself comes from Limburg, is visiting innovative, international projects and companies to get to know them and discuss the possibilities of providing support for them from the consulate.

Mosa sees the visit as an important step towards the further intensification of its contacts in this region. The Maastricht-based tile factory has been active in Asia for many years via a network of international architects and exclusive dealers. ‘Our products are popular in Asia because of their unique Dutch Design, high quality, and sustainability aspects,’ explains CEO Frank Spikker. Mosa tiles can be found in iconic buildings such as the Shanghai Library East and the New Ningbo Library. The watch brand Longines also chose Mosa tiles for all of its Chinese branches. Asia has the largest tile market in the world.

Spikker explains, ‘Mosa focuses on creating healthy and sustainable living spaces where people can feel comfortable, inspired, and healthy – all around the world. We produce tiles for floors, walls, and façades in line with the Cradle to Cradle® philosophy. And we are always looking for new partners that share this way of thinking with us, such as local architects and dealers. I still see plenty of opportunity for growth for Mosa in China, particularly in urban areas. We are therefore grateful to be able to present our company to the Consul General today.’

Cradle to Cradle

Mosa has been working according to the Cradle to Cradle® philosophy since 2011. This means the tile manufacturer reduces waste, saves energy, and assumes its corporate social responsibility according to five critical performance categories: material health, material reutilization, renewable energy & carbon management, water stewardship, and social fairness.

In addition to Mosa, Crompvoets is also visiting the Brightlands Maastricht Health campus, DSM and Nedcar.
